(Lima, SoloAzar Exclusive) - In an exclusive interview with SoloAzar, Carlos García Carvajal, Commercial Director for LATAM and Spain at WorldMatch, shared his impressions of the 2024 edition of the Peru Gaming Show (PGS). Carvajal highlighted the organisation and positive impact of the event, as well as Peru's strong regulatory track record in the gaming industry.

WorldMatch at Peru Gaming Show 2024: Optimistic vision for the Peruvian market

What did you think of this edition of PGS?
It was the first time that WolrdMatch was visting the show and all we can say is that the show has impressed us positively. Location, venue, organization and staff absolutely dedicated to do things going well and reaching a high level of satisfaction between all attendees. All our support to the PGS for the coming year as we think the show just must go on.

How do you see the Peruvian market regarding this industry?
Well, we have been shocked about how many years the regulatory arm has been dealing with the upcoming industry online. Regulated since the land based, they have created a culture about how things must be done, it doesn't matter if physical casinos or online casino later on but all that work done through years by the Engineer Manuel San Román and followed by the current regulatory Yuri Guerra has been done in the right direction to keep the industry clean and safe, to show the peruvian society that regulations bring benefits for Mincetur and the country so everyone win at the end.

Did you have the opportunity to attend the conferences and what do you think about the topics that were discussed?
I attended most of the conferences and the main topics focused around the regulations in the different countries, how to deal with criminal conduct and criminality in the industry, the differences between countries, the fact that we can comply with all sectors of the industry, the importance of sustainable Gaming, and the new challenges to come in the territories that are not yet fully regulated. Also the issue of where the tax money goes in both Colombia and Peru.

Do you think Peru Gaming Show 2024 met your expectations?
Absolutely yes, because there was a lot to do in just two days of action there. The conferences were often shortened due to deadlines and many of them did not have enough time to be completed.
But, I stress that the agenda was very well divided, with the lectures in the morning and the exhibition in the afternoon.

What would you recommend to the organisers of PGS for future editions?
I will just say keep going as you are in the right direction. I like that schedule as conferences in the morning, exhibitions in the evening and parties or dinners in the night so all 3 different actions can be together and making a great PGS Lima for many more years as Peruvian market is growing and also with the recent regulation even more new companies will reach to Peru to make business in the next years. ¡Vamos Perú!
